Let's Learn a Progression

Let's learn the chord progression to the Bill Withers and Grover Washington, Jr. classic 'Just the Two of Us'.

The song is in the key of F Minor, and includes a section of minor 7th chords that descent chromatically. It's a cool little trick you can add to your toolbox when writing your own songs.

Lucky Dog Guitars

Lucky Dog Guitars is a boutique guitar company based in Cleveland, Tennessee, started by guitarist and builder Anthony Sims.

The story began around 2013, when Anthony set out to build a T-style guitar purely for personal use. Frustrated by the limitations of off-the-shelf instruments, he wanted to create the kind of guitar he had always dreamed of playing: something with exceptional tone, standout playability, and a vintage-inspired aesthetic, all built to a higher standard than what he found in most production models.

What started as a one-off hobby project quickly turned into something much bigger. After spending several months crafting the guitar, Anthony played it at a local gig. The response from other musicians was immediate—players were drawn to the guitar’s sound and look, and within a week, he had a request to build another. Word began to spread organically through the local music community, and soon after, Lucky Dog Guitars was born—named after Anthony’s dog, Lucky.

By 2018 Anthony was building guitars full-time. His guitars quickly gained a strong reputation, and a long wait list started forming with players who wanted one of their own.

Every Lucky Dog guitar is handcrafted from start to finish. Anthony and his small team build the necks and bodies in-house, and each guitar is made to match the customer’s personal style and playing needs. From unique finishes to flame maple necks and custom pickup setups, no two guitars are exactly the same. Each one is made with care, precision, and a whole lot of soul.

Lucky Dog’s most popular model is the Evangelist, a vintage-style T-style guitar that combines classic looks with modern feel and tone. It can be built as a solid body or semi-hollow, with 21 or 22 frets, and in many different pickup configurations. The Evangelist stands out both in sound and appearance—and many players consider it a dream guitar.

Lucky Dog Guitars continues to grow through word of mouth and passionate fans. Even with all the demand, Anthony has kept the company small so he can focus on quality, not quantity. For musicians looking for a guitar that feels personal, sounds amazing, and looks like a piece of art, a Lucky Dog is truly something special.
