This article takes a look at the best new guitar gear announced at the 2025 NAMM Show.
Fender launched a new $599 Standard Series. The made-in-Indonesia line includes a Telecaster, Stratocaster, HSS Stratocaster, Jazz Bass, and Precision Bass. They feature Fender's 'Modern C' neck, a 9.5"-radius fingerboard, and 'Fender Standard pickups'.
The Standard Series also includes an Acoustasonic Standard Jazzmaster and Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster, available in honey burst, aged natural, and black. They are built with braced solid Sitka spruce tops, chambered bodies, and pickups designed in collaboration with Fishman. Available in April (also priced at $599).
Fender announced the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster. This guitar is a collaboration model commemorating the 20th anniversary of the worldwide hunting action game “Monster Hunter” in which players confront giant monsters in a nature setting 🤷♂️. It has a satin-finished alder body, a 9.5” radius “C”-shape maple neck with 22 medium jumbo frets, a neck humbucker, and a bridge single-coil pickup. Retails for $1,999. Available in March.
Fender is releasing a Limited Edition American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster. Available in butterscotch blonde or 'prototype white'.
Fender also announced an American Vintage II 1965 Stratocaster, available in Candy Apple Red, Shoreline Gold, and Sonic Blue.
Fender announced a 30th Anniversary Blues Junior Combo amp with a cool new look. Features a commemorative Black Western covering and vintage Bassman grille cloth, has a modified pre-amp circuit, and a Celestion® G12M-65 Creamback speaker. MSRP is $999 USD - though it's not expected to be available until late June.
Martin released 2 Billy Strings Signature Guitars: The D-28, and the budget friendly D-X2E. The guitars are inspired by Billy's 1940 Martin D-28 dreadnought, and feature a 25" scale length and 1 23/32'' nut width (which is a bit wider than his 1940 model). Both models feature modified low oval satin neck, designed for comfort and speed.
The made-in-Mexico D-X2E features laminate sides & back (as to be expected based on the $899 price point), but does feature a pickup system and build-in tuner (which the top-end D-28 does not).
Gibson announced a 1955 NAMM Show Commemorative Edition Les Paul, recreating five rare metallic nitrocellulose lacquer finishes.
Gibson also announced a Gibson Warren Haynes Signature Les Paul. Offered in a 60s Cherry finish, the guitar will feature a mahogony body, a pair of P-90 pickups, and a toggleable clean boost switch.
Collings Guitars announced a new model called the Ladybird. The fully-hollow, single-cut guitar has a 24 1/8” scale length, and Righteous Sound Cathedral or Bishop pickups.
D'Angelico released Premier EXL-1 Hollowbody archtop guitar. It features a custom floating mini-humbucker, a 17-inch-wide body design, a slim C-shape neck, medium vintage frets, and a 1 and 11/16" nut width. At a MSRP of $1,199, it's priced higher than most (all?) of their other Premier Series guitars, but it's also a bigger guitar.
Gibson announced several new acoustic guitars, including the 936 Advanced Jumbo dreadnought, J-45 Special, and a Margo Price Signature J-45.
Guild released the Travel Spruce acoustic guitar. The small-bodied design has a 22 3/8" scale length, a spruce top with mahogany back & sides, and a satin finish.
Taylor released 2 new Builders Edition 814ce guitars. The Grand Auditorium guitars feature select tonewoods, and is offered in Hoduran Rosewood + Sinker Redwood and Honduran Rosewood + Adirondack Spruce.
Ernie Ball collaborated with Cory Wong for the Stingray II collection. Offered in Standard and Deluxe models, they feature 2 humbuckers, a roasted maple neck, 22 stainless steel frets, and an ergonomic body design.
Eastman announced a new solidbody electric guitar series called the Fullertone. The SC-52 model features 2 pickups, and a maple fretboard, while the DC'62 has an HSS pickup configuration, with a humbucker + 2 single coil pickups.
Orange Amplification expanded their line of Baby amps. The solid-state, portable rack-mountable heads are designed to deliver big (pedal-friendly) tones in a baby-sized package.
DigiTech partnered with bassist MonoNeon for a Signature Whammy V Pedal. It expands on the Whammy V, adding a new Hypersonic Mode for a 3-octave pitch rise, an innovative Octave Blend, and a new detune function.
Marshall released a new line of overdrive guitar pedals: '1959', 'JCM800', 'JCM900', 'DSL' and 'JVM'.
